Alicia Berry is a recent alum of the Augusta University Medical Illustration Graduate Program.
Alicia attended Columbus College of Art and Design and it was during this time that she recognized her love for learning, particularly in the scientific field. She decided to change her trajectory to medical illustration in order to continue her artistic journey while also continuously pursuing knowledge.
While working on her undergraduate degree, Alicia taught art classes at the studio MyArt and illustrated the children’s book series Heaven’s Heroes. In May 2022, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Illustration and a minor in business.
Alicia received the award of excellence in the 2023 Student Scientific and Medical Illustration Exhibition. She participated in the Augusta University Graduate Research Day as well as the Association of Medical Illustrators student salon.
Augusta University has allowed Alicia to gain experience in a wide variety of media from digital illustration, animations in both 2D and 3D, and physical 3D printing and modeling. The program has also trained her to tailor works aimed to educate anyone from patients to experience professionals. She plans to use the skills honed through her graduate program to create accurate works that help everyone of all walks of life more knowledgeable about the world of science and medicine.
